The bible overall tells us about God. The gospels show us God in the form of Jesus. The account of Jesus interacting with the huge crowd that had followed him even when he needed to get away for a while, shows us the compassion of God. He healed the sick until late in the evening when the apostles suggested sending everyone away so they could go to the nearby towns and eat. Jesus had a different idea. In the miracle that followed, we learn some things about God and we learn some things about ourselves
