In the last weeks we have read where Peter has called us to live with "joyful expectations" of things to come, he has called us to live holy lives, and this week he calls us to live in unity. We are all tied together because of our bond in Christ. We were all equally lost without Him and we are all equally saved because of what He has done for us! When we fully realize those two things, the things that once divided us fade in importance. We focus more on what brings us together and less on our differences. We put others' needs ahead of our own. We embrace the notion that "it's not about me." Christ gave us the perfect example of this and Peter is calling us to embrace it.
