Someone asked Jesus to settle a dispute about an inheritance. In response, Jesus told a parable about a farmer who was very successful. The farmer had a bumper crop that his barns would not hold. He decides to tear down his barns and build bigger ones, then pats himself on the back saying, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” But God called the man a fool. Jesus said this is what happens when we store up for ourselves and are not rich toward God.
