This letter is so encouraging! It's from Peter, the one with a history of sticking his foot in his mouth, the one who denied Jesus three times before the crucifixion. And it is this Peter who carries out the command of Jesus to "feed my sheep" by giving us a beautiful picture of what God has done, and is doing, in our lives as followers of Jesus. He opens his letter telling us that the resurrection of Jesus has given us new birth into a living hope!
