Last week we looked at the patience of God which Peter describes in the first half of this chapter. But if we stopped there, we would be doing a disservice to ourselves and others. Because while God is certainly patient, and wants all people to come to repentance, he is also just. He cannot tolerate injustice and evil. He will make things right in his own time. He is patient with us, waiting for us to come to Christ. If we accept Christ, then we are saved because he paid for our sin and satisfied the just nature of God. If we reject Christ, we have no hope! God is patient, but he is also just.
