God's Purpose and Justice
We each have our own picture of what we consider to be "justice." But remember the words of God in Isaiah 55:
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts."
Paul reminds us of these truths in this section of his letter. God has a purpose and he is working to make things happen. In doing that, He says:
"I will have mercy to anyone I choose,
and I will show compassion to anyone I choose."
God is God and we are not. God is working in all things according to HIS purposes and not necessarily my own. My job is not to argue with God, but to align my will with His.
