"Disciples Look for the Lost"
Luke 15
Last week we were in Luke 14 and Jesus was talking about the cost of following him (being his disciple). Luke tells us that the religious leaders were complaining about the people Jesus was associating with. He was "welcoming" and eating with "sinners." The Greek word translated as "welcoming" is more active than that; he was "seeking them out." Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he tells three parables. Each of them tells how God feels about the lost and each of them has to do with discipleship. It is our duty to bring the lost to Jesus.
